General Information

Magic Valley Electric Cooperative, with its corporate office in Mercedes, Texas, is a nonprofit cooperative that supplies power to south Texas. Established in 1937, its services cover Hidalgo, Cameron, Starr, Willacy and Kenedy counties in the state. The cooperative is part of the Touchstone Energy, a national alliance of consumer-owned electric cooperatives. Magic Valley has more 4,500 miles of energized line serving over 85,000 meters. It provides fiscal management and member services , and is one of the first in the United States to make across-the-board capital credit refunds to members and to use two-way radios in service trucks. Magic Valley Electric Cooperative also provides reliable Internet services, and offers a variety of options for payment of bills to suit individual needs and preferences.
