Dr. Ricky Kalra is a spine fellowship trained, board certified neurosurgeon who is originally from Plano, Texas. Dr. Kalra specializes in treating brain, spine, and peripheral nerve issues. He has a special interest in brain tumor and complex spine surgery. Dr. Kalra spent a year researching brain tumors and was nationally recognized for his contributions with the Preuss Award by the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. He also has extensive publications in spine surgery and was awarded the Charlie Kunz award by the Joint Spine Section for his research on lumbar fusions. As part of his training Dr. Kalra completed a spine fellowship in Germany to further learn the newest spine technologies, minimally invasive techniques, and complex scoliosis surgery. Dr. Kalra has been named by D Magazine as a D best neurosurgeon in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021. Dr. Kalra also has multiple leadership roles in north Dallas hospitals as a medical directory of neurosurgery.
